Before you commit to an invoicing program, you want to know one thing: what do you actually get for your money, and what will it really cost you over a year? Fakturoid and iDoklad are two of the most widely used invoicing programs among self-employed people (OSVČ — the Czech term for a self-employed sole trader) in the Czech Republic, and choosing between them is often close: both have a similar tier structure, similar features, and similar free-plan limits.
This comparison lists both programs' prices excluding VAT as of 5 September 2026, the differences in what you actually get, and three business profiles that each tool suits best. At the end we show a third option too — Taxorio, which covers similar ground for a considerably lower price, but with different limits of its own.
Fakturoid and iDoklad at a glance
Fakturoid is a Czech invoicing program aimed at self-employed people and smaller businesses, built around simplicity and a wide range of bank connections. It also runs its own MCP server — a connector that lets AI assistants such as Claude work directly with your invoicing data — available since April 2026.
iDoklad targets a similar audience but puts more weight on the number of users per account and direct bank-account matching with selected banks. Both programs offer a free plan, paid tiers billed monthly or annually, and a trial period for paid features — iDoklad states 60 days; check the exact length for Fakturoid in its current price list.

Annual billing works out cheaper than twelve monthly payments on both programs — roughly 17 to 22% less, depending on the tier.
What you get for free, and where the limits are
Both free plans work as a genuine starting point, but each limits a different thing. Fakturoid Free has no cap on the number of invoices you issue, but you can only invoice up to five customers and you work alone in the account. iDoklad Free caps you at five contacts and one user, but allows recurring invoices and three free AI document scans a month. Neither free plan includes bank payment matching or automatic payment reminders.
If you invoice only a handful of regular clients, the five-customer limit may never bother you. If you keep adding new clients, though, you will eventually hit the five-contact ceiling on both programs. Payment matching, reminders, and recurring invoices
This is where the two programs' prices come closest together. Fakturoid bundles bank payment matching, automatic payment reminders, and expense tracking into its Na každý den tier at 212 CZK a month; AI document scanning is included for five documents a month, with extra scans billed separately. iDoklad only unlocks bank matching and automatic reminders in its Oblíbený tier at 430 CZK a month, alongside data prepared for the tax return and five user seats.
Recurring invoices — automatically reissuing the same invoice on a schedule — are unlimited only in Fakturoid's top Na maximum tier, alongside inventory tracking and quotes; lower tiers cap the number of recurring templates. iDoklad, by contrast, includes recurring invoices even in its free plan.
Bank connections: who supports what
Fakturoid connects to a wide range of banks, among others Fio (via API and email), Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka, Air Bank, ČSOB, Raiffeisenbank, Moneta, UniCredit, Creditas, and Tatra banka, plus forwarded emails from Gmail or Seznam. iDoklad relies on direct bank-account API connections with selected banks, which tends to be more convenient but is limited to supported banks and only available from the Oblíbený tier upward.
Exporting your data if you ever decide to leave
Fakturoid lets you export your invoices, but a custom date range is capped at three months at a time, so leaving the program means exporting your history in batches. If you're planning a switch, build this step into your timeline early and spread it across several exports. iDoklad's public price list doesn't specify the scope or format of its export in detail — check the terms directly with support before you commit to switching away.
AI document recognition and mobile access
Both programs offer AI-based recognition of received documents such as bills and receipts. Fakturoid includes it from the Na každý den tier, with five free scans a month and extra scans billed separately. iDoklad gives you three free scans even on the free plan. If you photograph receipts on the go, the cost of extra scans can matter — check the current terms with both providers, since they change as often as the pricing tiers themselves.
Both offer a mobile app for iPhone and Android; iDoklad includes it in every tier, including the free one. If invoicing from your phone matters to you, try both apps before buying a paid tier.
How much this actually costs you per year
Converting to an annual figure shows the difference most clearly. The prices below are excluding VAT and apply to the tier that includes automated invoicing: payment matching, reminders, and recurring invoices.

At annual pricing, Taxorio's Pro plan comes out roughly three times cheaper than Fakturoid's Na každý den tier, and around six times cheaper than iDoklad's Oblíbený tier. The comparison isn't only about price, though: before deciding, check whether each tier also includes features you will actually use outside of automation, such as inventory tracking, extra user seats, or a specific bank connection.
Three profiles: which tool suits you
A new non-VAT payer with a handful of invoices a month
If you issue only a few invoices a month and five customers is enough, both Fakturoid's and iDoklad's free plans will cover you. The deciding factor is whether you want recurring invoices from day one (iDoklad) or an unlimited number of issued invoices (Fakturoid).
A freelancer with 10 to 30 invoices who needs matching and reminders
Here the choice is between Fakturoid's Na každý den tier (212 CZK/month) and iDoklad's Oblíbený tier (430 CZK/month) — both include payment matching and reminders, iDoklad adds five user seats, while Fakturoid offers a wider range of supported banks for matching.
A small business with a team and inventory
A team with several users and inventory tracking needs the top tier of either program — Fakturoid's Na maximum or iDoklad's Prémiový. Taxorio isn't a fit for this profile: it doesn't support inventory tracking or multiple companies on one account.
How to switch from Fakturoid or iDoklad
Switching invoicing programs doesn't have to mean retyping every client and invoice by hand. History can be imported from Fakturoid via an XML export, and from iDoklad via an XLSX or CSV export. How Taxorio handles this
Taxorio is an invoicing program built specifically for self-employed people. For 69 CZK a month or 690 CZK a year (excluding VAT), it includes unlimited invoices and expense records, payment matching from bank email notifications, automatic reminders, recurring invoices, AI receipt scanning, and XML exports for the VAT return, the VAT control statement (kontrolní hlášení — a separate monthly or quarterly report of VAT transactions filed alongside the VAT return), and a basic income tax return scenario. The free plan, with no credit card required, gives you 2 new invoices and 5 expense documents a month with an unlimited number of clients — the opposite of Fakturoid and iDoklad, which cap the number of clients rather than the number of invoices.
Taxorio doesn't do everything, though: there's no inventory tracking, only one company per account, no One Stop Shop (OSS) scheme for selling to EU consumers, and no native app in the app stores — it runs as a web application in the browser, which you can add to your phone's home screen like an app. Foreign-currency invoicing it does handle (CZK, EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, PLN, converted at the ČNB rate).
